Eugenio Rodriguez, M.D. is a distinguished general surgeon, trauma surgeon, and wound care specialist with over 35 years of clinical experience, serving patients across South Florida. He currently practices at Eugenio Rodriguez, M.D., P.A. and also provides care at Wound Care Associates and Florida Specialty Care Clinic, where he specializes in complex trauma, personal injury, and chronic wound cases.
Relying on decades of hands-on experience and sharp medical insight, Dr. Rodriguez delivers advanced, comprehensive treatment for general surgery, trauma, burns, post-surgical complications, and wounds that fail to heal through conventional care. He employs the latest technology and regenerative methods to treat injuries that would otherwise remain open for years—helping patients recover more rapidly and fully.
Eugenio Rodriguez M.D. completed his undergraduate education at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez, graduating magna cum laude in Biology/Pre-Med. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in 1986, again magna cum laude. He went on to complete his residency at the San Juan VA Medical Center and the UPR Medical Sciences Campus, followed by a clinical and research fellowship in trauma at Tampa General Hospital under the mentorship of Dr. Alexander Rosemurgy.
Eugenio Rodriguez M.D. is board-certified by both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Wound Medicine and Surgery. He also serves as a key member of the trauma and surgical team at Delray Medical Center, one of only four Level I trauma centers in South Florida, where he regularly treats the region’s most critically injured patients.

As a lifelong advocate for healthcare equity, he has dedicated his career to treating underserved populations with dignity and excellence. He is also actively developing a nonprofit foundation to expand access to wound and surgical care through charitable outreach.
As an educator, he mentors over 30 medical students annually, helping train the next generation of healthcare leaders. His commitment to innovation, compassion, and excellence continues to make a lasting impact in both clinical and community settings.

After more than 30 years of practicing medicine as a trauma and general surgeon, I find myself at a meaningful crossroads. This journey has been more than a profession — it has been a calling. Every surgery, every recovery, every patient entrusted to my care has been a reminder of the sacred responsibility we carry as healers. What began as a personal mission to serve and repair brokenness has grown into a practice built on compassion, trust, and teamwork. I have had the privilege of mentoring future physicians, training alongside brilliant staff, and building lasting relationships with the communities we serve. These moments are my greatest reward.
As I begin my transition toward retirement, I do so with a full heart and unwavering confidence in the team that continues the work.
